What Happens Next

The application of laser energy to the skin results in a pink colour and swelling around the hair follicles that can last for a few days. Crusting in the treated area may rarely develop, again lasting a few days. Discomfort similar to sunburn may be noticeable over the first 24 hr period and in such cases paracetamol may be used after treatment.

In certain cases, particularly in clients with darker skin, temporary pigment changes may be noted. Hair may still be visible within the follicles for a couple of weeks after the treatment. However, once this hair has shed you are left with smooth, hair free skin.
